We have purchased many hindu bronze sculptures and one wood carving panel from Lotus Sculpture over the last few years. We are extremely pleased with the quality and beauty of these objects. But, Kyle proposed me many other solution to help me getting what I wanted. So I would like to thank him for everthing he did for me.
I received both of them yesterday. I was so happy, especially when I saw how the statue were perfectly packed. They travelled few thousand miles and hd no trouble.

Loved the experience - 5.6.2013
It is rare to have a web purchase feel like such a personal experience. The way the products are described and the prompt attention from the company was really great. I had a personal email from the owner within a few minutes of ordering to clarify something on my information. The statue arrived right on time and is better than I expected. Thanks

A a perfect place to find a rare southeast Asian art with an affordable price.

A very unique sculpture that combines Ganesh with attributes of Shiva, particularly his long hair
Gaensh is holding weapons and symbols of His father, Shiva
The large figure of Nandi is laying down behind Ganesh
The deep red, almost chocolate color of the marble is very unique
The artist of this piece loving named this sculpture "Rasta Ganesh". It is delightful fusion of Ganesh with His father, Shiva. Ganesh has full dreadlocks like His father who renounces the world. He holds in his hands a trishul or trident, a dhamru or drum and cobra. His 4th had is held in the abhaya-mudra or "fear not" gesture. Ganesh gently leans back upon the vahana or vehicle of His father, the white bull, Nandi.
About Gorora Stone: Gorora stone or Red marble is a wonderful stone for sculpture because of its wide color range. It is rarer than most soft stones and must be shipped into Tamil Nadu from Uttar Pradesh in the north. The stone has wonderful cream/yellow/green veins in it contrasting to the beautiful deep red to sometimes pink natural coloration of the stone. The stone is extremely glossy. When a red marble statue is polished it has a disarming shimmer.
"In heaven Lord Ganesh will establish the predominance of gods, on earth that of people, in the nether world that of serpents and anti-gods" ~A Hymn from Sri Bhagavat-Tathva~
The chubby, gentle, wise, elephant-headed Ganesh, or Ganesha, is one of Hinduisms most popular deities. He is the remover of obstacles, the deity whom worshippers first acknowledge when they visit a temple. He is also patron of letters and of learning; he is the legendary scribe who, using his broken tusk, which he often holds, wrote down parts of the Mahabharata epic. Ganesh is usually depicted colored red; he is pot bellied, has one tusk broken, and has four arms that may hold a pasam, a goad, and a pot of rice or sweetmeats. The sweet meats are held in a type of bowl known as a laddus. His appetite for these sweets is legendary and offerings of them are often left at his shrine.
Statues of Ganesh can be found in most Indian towns. His image is placed where new houses are to be built; he is honored at the start of a journey or business venture, and poets traditionally invoke him at the start of a book.
A pasam is a triple twine weapon. Each of the three twines represents, arrogance and conceit, Maya - the illusory nature of the real world, ignorance. In Hindu ideology weapons are a viewed as symbolic tools to destroy the ego rather than to cause any type of bloodshed. Goads (or elephant prods) are typically used to direct elephants. Goads are symbolic of how one should steer the soul away from the ignorance and illusions of this earthly world just as a mahout would steer an elephant away from any treacherous path.
About the Artist
Balan Arimuvani is the artist behind all our colored marble statues. He has worked with Lotus Sculpture since we started in 2002. His small marble workshop began with only him and 2 other workers. His business has grown to 8 marble artists and now he has a granite workshop employing 30 workers for large granite statues. He continually credits Lotus Sculpture with his success saying it would not have been possible with out the continuing commissions from Lotus Sculpture. Balan is a good friend of Kyle Tortora, the owner of Lotus Sculpture. He has a wife and two beautiful girls.

"Use a cotton cloth and gently buff the surface of the statue to bring out the natural polish of the stone."
