    I order two statues (one of Lord Ganesha and an other of Lord Buddah). Unfortunatly, the Lord Ganesah's one had been sold before my order. But, Kyle proposed me many other solution to help me getting what I wanted. So I would like to thank him for everthing he did for me. I received both of them yesterday.     Buddha statues - 5.2.2013

    I have purchased six Buddhas from Lotus Sculpture sofar and am very pleased with all of them. Because of my interest in Buddhism and in travel to Asian countries, I pick each Buddha as representative of specific nations and peoples. They remind me of the richness and variety of all these people and their great contribution to the human race. Thus, I have Buddhas from India, Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal, China, and Hawaii. I have yet to purchase those from Viet Nam and Laos, countries I have yet to visit. As a professor of theology and spirituality and a writer of twelve books thusfar, my latest on Christian-Buddhist dialogue, I cannot recommend more highly the beauty of Lotus Sculpture works.     Description

    The Buddha is in the meditation hand position or Dhyana mudra.  The Dhyana mudra is the mudra of meditation, of concentration on the Good law, and of the attainment of spiritual perfection. According to tradition, this mudra derives from the one assumed by the Buddha when meditating under the pipal tree before his Enlightenment. This gesture was also adopted since time immemorial, by yogis during their meditation and concentration exercises. It indicates the perfect balance of thought, rest of the senses, and tranquility.

    His winter robes cover his entire body .  The back of the piece is just as beautiful as the front with the robes hanging loosely over his thin and sculptured back. There are two bodhi tree leaves and two lions carved into the base.  The bodhi leaves are symbolic of the Buddha attaining enlightenment under the bodhi tree in Dharamsala and the lions are a symbol of the great Buddhist emperor of Indian; Emperor Ashoka.

    About Black Granite:  Indian black granite is a wonderful stone. It is capable of a variety of finishes which can give it a variety of different color possibilities. It is possible to see 4-5 different colors on a single piece depending on the degree of polish or roughness of the stone. Indian black granite is among the best granite in the world sought after by artists globally. Unlike inferior quality granite, Indian granite is extremely dense and without impurities that plague other stones. The density of granite makes a granite sculpture perfect for any garden because it can be left outside in extreme heat and extreme cold for years without care.

    Granite statues from India do not need much maintenance.  The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating.  They can be used for both indoor and outdoor use. 

    "You can use soap, warm water and a cotton cloth to periodically
    go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.    "

    Soap and warm water is the best way to maintain the statue.  You can use a small brush to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair. 

    Granite's durability makes it perfect for cold winters and hot summers of any climate.  The stone can stand up to the harshest conditions of heat and bitter cold.  We suggest you bathe the sculpture at least once a year so that dirt does not collect on the sculpture.  This will maintain the sculpture for your grandchildren and then their grandchildren!
