    I order two statues (one of Lord Ganesha and an other of Lord Buddah). Unfortunatly, the Lord Ganesah's one had been sold before my order. But, Kyle proposed me many other solution to help me getting what I wanted. So I would like to thank him for everthing he did for me. I received both of them yesterday. I was so happy, especially when I saw how the statue were perfectly packed. They travelled few thousand miles and hd no trouble. Once again, thank you. Thomas

    Buddha statues - 5.2.2013

    I have purchased six Buddhas from Lotus Sculpture sofar and am very pleased with all of them. Because of my interest in Buddhism and in travel to Asian countries, I pick each Buddha as representative of specific nations and peoples. They remind me of the richness and variety of all these people and their great contribution to the human race. Thus, I have Buddhas from India, Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal, China, and Hawaii. I have yet to purchase those from Viet Nam and Laos, countries I have yet to visit. As a professor of theology and spirituality and a writer of twelve books thusfar, my latest on Christian-Buddhist dialogue, I cannot recommend more highly the beauty of Lotus Sculpture works.     About Black Granite:  Indian black granite is a wonderful stone. It is capable of a variety of finishes which can give it a variety of different color possibilities.     About Hanuman

    Hanuman is one of the most important personalities in the epic, the Ramayana. He is a vanara who aided Lord Rama, an avatar of Vishnu, in rescuing His Consort, Sita, from the Demon king, Ravana. Vanaras are ape-like humanoids, who were created by Brahma and other gods to help Rama in battle against Ravana.

    Hanuman is the son of Vayu, the Hindu God of Wind, and is looked upon by Hindus as the ultimate hero and great devotee of Lord Rama of the Ramayana. He represents the figure of the ideal being, as he is humble yet brave. His physical prowess, mental discipline and spiritual purity have made him extremely popular all over India.
     
    He is a provider of courage, hope, knowledge, intellect and devotion. He is pictured as a robust monkey holding a mace or gada, which is a sign of bravery, and having a picture of Lord Rama tattooed on his chest, which is a sign of his devotion to Lord Rama.
     
    He is also called Mahaveera (the great hero) or Pavan-suta (son of air) or Bajarangbali.  In Tamil Nadu he is known as Anjaneya.

    Care

    Granite statues from India do not need much maintenance.  The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating.  They can be used for both indoor and outdoor use. 

    "You can use soap, warm water and a cotton cloth to periodically
    go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.    "

    Soap and warm water is the best way to maintain the statue.  You can use a small brush to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair. 

    Granite's durability makes it perfect for cold winters and hot summers of any climate.  The stone can stand up to the harshest conditions of heat and bitter cold.  We suggest you bathe the sculpture at least once a year so that dirt does not collect on the sculpture.  This will maintain the sculpture for your grandchildren and then their grandchildren!
