Bronze Krishna on Cow Statue, 24" - 3.25.2015
I bought a unique, one-of-a-kind statue from Lotus Sculpture which depict Krishna sitting sideways on a cow and playing his flute, while the cow has twisted her neck around so she can gaze up at him with loving eyes. It depicts a very touching moment. The cow's posture shows such love and devotion. I've never seen anything like it. The artistic balance between Krishna and the cow is wonderful, and Krishna is very well done, with a slight smile on his face as he plays his flute. It's the most remarkable statue of Krishna I've ever seen. In addition, the shipment was extremely prompt and a proper statement of value accompanied the statue. This has been a very good experience with Lotus Sculpture. --Maris Whitaker

Bought one last week, bought a second today - 3.24.2015
Purchased a 19" painted Ganesha. It arrived last week and it is better than expected. It was very well packed. The colors are vibrant and the hues are perfect. I was afraid they might be garish in hand, but those fears were completely unfounded. Beautiful color palette. The carving is well detailed. It is a very handsome piece. I couldn't be happier with it
In fact, I was so happy that I just finished purchasing a 36" painted Garuda. Once I saw the quality of the Ganesh I felt confident in purchasing a more expensive piece. And eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Had I the money and the room, I would be in trouble.

Good Product Good Service - 3.23.2015
This is the first time I bought a statue from Lotus Sculpture. It arrived the next day. Well packaged. It is a beautiful Ganesh hand made wooden statue.
Suggestion: it would be nice if you could list on your website if the statues you get from India involve fair trade and fair labor.
I am already looking on the website for my next purchase. Thank you for the great experience and importantly for making these beautiful pieces of art available for purchase in the US.

Exactly as promised - 3.11.2015
I've known about Lotus Sculpture from Hinduism Today magazine and from the testimonies of friends. His site is first rate and exhaustively documented with beautiful photographs, dimensions and descriptions. I appreciate the breadth of sculptures available be they of museum quality, bronzes or brasses, or as in my case, resin volcanic stone suitable for extreme weather and a more modest budget. It was a relief to know that I was going to be pleased when I opened the box to see professional grade rigid foam packing surrounding a thing of beauty.

All that I expected. - 3.10.2015
I recieved my stone resin Buddha and I am pleased with the product. Its much heavier and more solid than what I thought it would be. I wasnt wanting a flimsy, easily breakable statue. Thanks.

Avalokiteshvara is seated in the padmasana or lotus position. This is the leg position of deep meditation. He has 4 hands of which hold a conch shell, lotus flower and prayer malas. He has a beautiful crown and ornate, circular earrings. The deep, copper color of the body of the statue complements the gold and greens patina in the ornaments of the statue. His face is a polished gold color that really highlights his handsome face. In the Buddhist pantheon, Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara is revered as the personification of compassion. Avalokiteshvara may be the most popular of all Buddhist deities, with the exception of Lord Buddha himself -- he is beloved throughout the Buddhist world. The Dalai Lamas and Karmapas are believed to be emanations of Avalokiteshvara. The Tibetan name for Avalokiteshvara is Chenrzig.
"If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change." ~ Buddha~
The Buddha, whose original name was Siddhartha Gautama, was the founder of Buddhism, the religion and the philosophical system that produced a great culture throughout much of southern and eastern Asia. Buddha, meaning "awakened one" or "enlightened one" is a title not a name. In Hindu Dogma, the Buddha is viewed as being the 9th avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu. The Buddha was a son of the rulers Sakyas. He was married at the age of 16 and lived in luxury and comfort sheltered from the harsh realities of life. When he was 29 he realized that men are subject to old age, sickness and death. He became aware of the suffering inherent in existence. He resolved to give up princely life and become a wandering ascetic (samana) in search for the Truth. With the two of samanas he attained mystical states of elevated consciousness but he failed to find the Truth. He continued his search and was joined by five ascetics in a grove near Uruvela, where he practiced sever austerities and self-mortification for six years. When he fainted away in weakness, he abandoned ascetic practices to seek his own path to Enlightenment. Discarding the teachings of his contemporaries, through meditation he achieved Enlightenment, or ultimate understanding. There after the Buddha instructed his followers in the dharma (truth) and the "Middle Way" a path between worldly life and extremes of self-denial. The essence of the Buddha's early preaching was said to be the four Noble truths: 1) life is fundamentally disappointment and suffering. 2) suffering is a result of one's desires for pleasure, power, and continued existence; 3) to stop disappointment and suffering on must stop desiring; and 4) the way to stop desiring and thus suffering is the Noble eight fold path - right views, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right awareness and right concentration. The realization of the truth of anatman (no eternal self) was taught as essential for the indescribable state of release called nirvana.
Brass statues from India do not need much maintenance. The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. They can be used for both indoor and outdoor use.
"You can use soap, warm water and a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup."
You can use soap, warm water and a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup. If you are really interested in making the statue shine you can use some natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil, and a cotton rag to wipe down the metal portions of the piece. You can use a toothbrush as well to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair.
Indian brass's durability makes it perfect for cold winters and hot summers of any climate. The metal can stand up to the harshest conditions of heat and bitter cold. We suggest you bathe the sculpture every couple of months so that dirt does not collect on the sculpture and then use a cotton cloth with some natural oil to give the statue a shine.
