This beautiful and unique sculpture depicts a brass Buddha statue perfectly placed within a natural piece of wood. He has his right hand raised in the abhaya mudra of protection. The Buddha has an antique green, verde-gris patina which is unique to Balinese brass statues. The natural wood has a rich texture of knots that is full of cracks and holes that give it a rustic wooden appearance. The piece of wood is then attached to a small square, modern wooden base that contrasts beautifully with the raw wood above it .
