He is a vanara, a monkey in humanoid form, who aided Lord Rama, an avatar of Vishnu, in rescuing His Consort, Sita, from the Rakshasa king Ravana.  The monkey general, Hanuman is shown seated with his right hand held up in the abhaya mudra.  He is holding a very large club.  His tail playfully rest over his head.  He is wearing a large necklace of malas.  Hanuman has a namam on his forehead which is a Vishnu symbol that is stylized after Vishnu's footprints.  Hanuman is renown for his faithful and steadfast service to Rama as told in the Ramayana epic in which Hanuman played an active part.

Brass statues are made near Delhi India.  There are multiple copies of each statue made which differ from lost wax method, bronze statues in which only one statue is made.  This makes brass statues less expensive than bronze as bronze statues take much longer to make and are of higher quality.
About Hanuman Hanuman is one of the most important personalities in the epic, the Ramayana.
