Avalokiteshvara perceives the suffering of all beings, the tiered faces gazing outward in every direction so no cry goes unheard
Cast in Indonesian brass with an aged green patina, serene faces rise in ascending rings to a single crowned head with an ushnisha
On a natural raw-edged wood base, this striking multiple headed statues gives uniqueness to a home altar, meditation space, or shelf
This Avalokiteshvara statue is completely one of a kind, hand cast by the artists of Indonesia

Avalokiteshvara is the bodhisattva of infinite compassion, the one who perceives the suffering of all beings and turns toward it with mercy. The many faces rising in tiers embody this all-seeing awareness, each looking outward in every direction so that no cry goes unheard and no corner of the world is beyond reach. This multiplication of heads is a visual expression of a vow that leaves no one behind, compassion extended limitlessly across all directions at once.

Cast in Indonesian brass, this statue stacks serene Buddha-like faces in ascending tiers, each ring turned to gaze outward beneath finely stippled bands of hair, narrowing as it rises to a single crowned head with an ushnisha at the summit. The aged green patina settles into the recesses and lends the piece the depth of a temple relic. It is mounted on a slender rod set into a natural raw-edged wood base that grounds the vertical form. The piece stands 33 inches tall including the base. Well suited to a home altar, meditation space, or a console or shelf where its many faces can be seen up close.

"The statue chooses you.

You know when you find the right piece to bring into your home and into your heart."

~ Kyle Tortora, Founder, Lotus Sculpture ~

Avalokiteshvara is a bodhisattva from Mahayana Buddhism that is known for embodying the compassion of all Buddhas. He is typically depicted with eleven heads, representing his ability to hear the cries of the world, and one thousand arms, representing his ability to help those in need.

Brass statues from Bali, Indonesia do not need much maintenance. The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. Bali brass is meant only to be used indoors.

You can use a natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil and a cotton cloth to periodically wipe down the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

If you are really interested in making the statue shine you can use some natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil, and a cotton rag to wipe down the metal portions of the piece. You can use a toothbrush as well to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair. This will not remove any of the natural patina on the statue.
