This Buddha is shown in deep meditation, his hands resting together in dhyana mudra, the gesture the historical Buddha held as he attained enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. Marked at the center of his chest is the w�n symbol, whose name sounds like the Chinese word for ten thousand and signifies all good things and the entirety of the universe. Carried into China alongside Buddhism from India more than fifteen hundred years ago during the Han and Tang dynasties, the symbol has adorned images of the Buddha ever since, marking him as a source of infinite virtue and auspicious blessing.

Seated in full lotus position, his hands rest one atop the other in his lap in dhyana mudra, cradling a small alms bowl. His robe drapes over both shoulders in smooth, flowing folds that pool across his crossed legs, the w�n symbol carved prominently at his chest. His serene face carries closed, downcast eyes, a raised urna mark at the brow, and a faint smile, framed by long earlobes and tightly curled hair rising to a domed ushnisha. He rests on a wide double-lotus throne carved with overlapping petals above a scrolling floral border. Cast in golden bronze and standing 12 inches tall, this piece is a radiant centerpiece for an altar, shrine, or meditation space.

The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. These statues are mostly small and meant for indoor use.
