This Dorje statue is completely one of a kind, hand cast by the artists of Indonesia

The double dorje, or vishvavajra, is a sacred emblem in Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism, formed of two crossed vajras representing the thunderbolt of enlightenment and the indestructible nature of ultimate reality. Its four heads reach out to the four directions, symbolizing stability, balance, and the unshakable foundation of the awakened mind. Long held as a ritual implement of great power, the double dorje is believed to cut through illusion and to protect against negative forces, grounding a space in spiritual strength.

Cast in Indonesian brass with a deep green patina, this double dorje is mounted horizontally on a slender rod set into a black wood base. Each of the four heads curves inward in ribbed prongs that meet at a point, rising from ornate scrolled bulbs, and the central sphere is banded with fine incised detailing. The aged verdigris finish settles into the recesses and lends the piece the weight and character of a temple relic. Including the base it stands 14 inches. Well suited to a home altar, meditation space, or a shelf or console where its detail and ritual presence can be seen up close.

Brass statues from Bali, Indonesia do not need much maintenance. The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. Bali brass is meant only to be used indoors.

You can use a natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil and a cotton cloth to periodically wipe down the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

If you are really interested in making the statue shine you can use some natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil, and a cotton rag to wipe down the metal portions of the piece. You can use a toothbrush as well to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair. This will not remove any of the natural patina on the statue.
