Known as Foo Dogs or Shi Shi guardian lions, this small pair carries the same protective symbolism as their larger temple counterparts, believed to ward off evil and guard the entrance of any home or garden. Charming in scale, they bring the tradition of Shi Shi guardianship to smaller spaces, flanking a doorway, path, or shelf with the same watchful presence found at grand palace gates.

Each lion features a boldly detailed face with bulging round eyes, a furrowed brow, and an open mouth revealing carved fangs and tongue in a fixed, alert snarl.
