Ganesha is the Hindu deity of beginnings, wisdom, and the removal of obstacles, and his crown is one of the most variable elements across his many artistic representations, ranging from elaborate jeweled mukuts to simple wrapped cloth turbans that signal his accessibility and humanity alongside his divinity. This sculpture chooses the turban, rendered here in a stacked ribbed form that gives the upper head a strong architectural quality, grounding the otherwise fluid organic forms below with a structured geometric top. The combination of the carved turban above and the smooth flowing forms of the trunk and belly below creates a composition of deliberate contrast between the worked and the unworked, the detailed and the pure.

This sculpture is carved from Paradise granite quarried in Tamil Nadu, India, a stone with a cool grey base heavily marked with deep burgundy, rust, and warm pink mineral veining and patches that sweep across the surface in broad organic strokes. The turban at the top is carved in stacked horizontal ribs that narrow to a small flat-topped finial, its lighter matte surface in the pale grey ground of the stone contrasting with the darker warmer burgundy-flushed sections below. The head and trunk are a single continuous form, the trunk sweeping down and curving to the left in a deep hook that ends in a small raised lip, its surface polished and showing the full depth of the stone's burgundy and pink mineral color. The belly is a large smooth oval egg form, the dominant shape of the middle section, its surface matte and fine-grained. At the base two rounded knee forms and a carved lotus petal band sit on a small rectangular plinth, the polished surfaces of the knees echoing the dark reflective tone of the trunk above.

Paradise granite is one of the most visually complex granites from Tamil Nadu, its surface shifting dramatically between dry and wet states, the burgundy veining intensifying and the grey ground deepening when moisture is present. At 36 inches tall this sculpture works as a garden focal point, a courtyard centerpiece, or a statement indoor sculpture, and its unique turban crown makes it immediately distinct from other abstract Ganesha forms.

This sculpture is in our Oceanside, California gallery and ready for immediate packing & shipping. Packing takes anywhere from 1-4 business days. Shipping takes anywhere from 1-6 business days. The shipping price is automatically calculated from Oceanside, California to the destination in the online checkout. Shipping will be calculated based on the weight of the sculpture and the distance to the destination from our Oceanside, California showroom.
The delivery charges include insurance, a residential lift gate delivery to your home or business. The freight company will call you to schedule a delivery day and time frame to make the delivery. Someone must be present to receive the statue. Depending on where you are located we will use either R&L Carriers, UPS Freight, Estes, DHX or Roadrunner Transport.
The freight company will use a lift gate to bring the sculpture to the ground and then use a pallet jack to move it anywhere on the same level. They will move it anywhere in your driveway or in your garage. They will not take it to your backyard or in the elevator to your apartment or up or down any steps. They will not be unpacking the statue and taking the crate away. Think of them as you would UPS or Fedex. They only deliver the statue. If you require a little extra service, (within reason) a tip to a delivery man usually works wonders!
For placing the statue our customers have either placed the statue themselves with help of a friend and a tool like a hand truck or a dolly. Or by contacting their landscaper who is used to moving large and heavy objects like rocks and trees into place. For much larger and heavier sculptures sometimes the customer needs a piece of heavy equipment for placing the statue like a crane or forklift. Packing takes anywhere from 1-4 days depending on the statue. We can ship the statue using either sea or air freight to either the your home or the closest port.
