SOLD Pratyangira Devi Statue Riding Lion 20"

In this beautiful bronze sculpture Pratyangira Devi is shown with a lion's face and riding a lion.  She holds a trident, a cobra, a hand-drum with a cobra and a severed head in her four hands.   She wears a garland of skulls around her neck.  Over her head is a seven headed serpent.  The piece is cast in multiple pieces.  The Lion is cast separately from Pratyangira Devi as she can be removed from the base.  The trident and seven headed serpent can also be removed from the piece.

About Pratyangira Devi:  Sri Maha Pratyangira Devi is a powerful Devi who is said to have destroyed Sarabheswara's arrogance. Sarabheswara is a ugra avatar of Lord Shiva.  She is also known as Narasimhika.  It is said that when Pratyangira Devi shakes her head and lion's mane, she throws the stars into disarray.  Sri Pratyangira Devi is also associated with Sri Chakra.  She is considered to be a powerful repellent of the influences generated by witch-craft.  In Sri Chakra worship she protects her devotees against all negative influences and guides him/her along the right path.  She is also associated with Bhairava, and she has a variant form Atharvana-Bhadra-Kali.
