Dattatreya is the synthesis of Shiva, Vishnu & Brahma, the complete Hindu Holy Trinity, into one form
He has 4 hands that hold a copy of the Hindu holy Vedas, a conch shell and a water vessel with his right hand in the vitarka mudra of teach and debate
Dattatreya is covered in beautiful detailed carvings in his crown, earrings, jewelery and his leggings

Dattatreya or Datta is considered by Hindus to be an incarnation of the Divine Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The word Datta means "Given". This beautiful depiction of Dattatreya has him in a seated posture with one leg on top of the other. He has 6 hands holding a conch, fire, bell, knife and water vessel and his final hand being in the teaching hand position. The statue has beautiful details in his head dress, pants and the lotus base. The three faces Dattatreya depict Vishnu in the center, Shiva to Vishnu's left and Brahma to the left. Each face has a particular expression that one rarely sees in sculptures. The expression truly captures the beauty of the Godhead! Datta has a deep copper patina. A beautiful statue of the Hindu Trinity!

Brass statues from Bali, Indonesia do not need much maintenance. The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. Bali brass is meant only to be used indoors.

You can use a natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil and a cotton cloth to periodically wipe down the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

If you are really interested in making the statue shine you can use some natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil, and a cotton rag to wipe down the metal portions of the piece. You can use a toothbrush as well to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair. This will not remove any of the natural patina on the statue.
