  • She is seated on a double lotus circular base in the lalitasana with her right foot hanging down in front of her and her left foot tucked beneath her in front of a large beautiful arch with peacock tail designs on it
  • Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of wealth, by having a statue of her in your home your are inviting abundance into your home and into your life
  • This Lakshmi statue would pair beautifully with this Saraswati statue
Lakshmi is seated on a lotus base holding two lotus flowers. Her front right hand is held up in the abhaya mudra while her left hand is in the varada mudra giving boons to her devotees. Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of wealth. Not particularly wealth in terms of money but in terms of abundance in spiritual terms of happiness and bliss. A large arch surrounds her. Being the wife of Lord Vishnu she takes several avatars to accompany Vishnu on his quest of upholding the dharma. One avatar she took was Bhoodevi, the mother earth-goddess. She seems to embody the Mother in this sculpture.
I always say to our customers; The sculpture chooses you, you do not choose the sculpture.
You just know when you find the right piece to bring into your home and into your heart.
- Kyle Tortora, Founder of Lotus Sculpture
"Beautiful goddess seated on a chariot, delighted by songs on lustful elephants, bedecked with lotuses, pearls and gems, lustrous as fire, radiant as gold, resplendent as the sun, calm as the moon, mistress of cows and horses - take away poverty and misfortune bring joy, riches, harvest and children."

Draped in red saree, bedecked with gold ornaments, seated on a lotus, pot in hand, flanked by white elephants, the image of Lakshmi adorns most Hindu homes and business establishments.

Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, fortune, power, luxury, beauty, fertility, and auspiciousness.  She holds the promise of material fulfillment and contentment.  She is described as restless, whimsical yet maternal, with her arms raised to bless and to grant her blessings.

Shri is the sacred name of Lakshmi.  Shri is written atop most documents and spoken before addressing a god, teacher holy man or any revered individual.  The word evokes grace, affluence abundance, auspiciousness and authority.  When the word is spoken or written an aura of holiness is established.  Whatever follows is imbued with divine blessing.  Just as the word "Om" is associated with the mystical side of life, Shri is associated with the material side of existence.

Lakshmi represents the beautiful and bountiful aspect of nature.  As Bhoodevi, the earth-goddess, she nurtures life; as Shreedevi, the goddess of fortune, she bestows power, pleasure and prosperity on those who deserve her grace.  To realize her, one must respect the laws of life and appreciate the wonders of existence.

Brass statues from India do not need much maintenance. The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. They can be used for both indoor and outdoor use.

You can use soap, warm water and a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

You can use soap, warm water and a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup. If you are really interested in making the statue shine you can use some natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil, and a cotton rag to wipe down the metal portions of the piece. You can use a toothbrush as well to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair.

Indian brass's durability makes it perfect for cold winters and hot summers of any climate. The metal can stand up to the harshest conditions of heat and bitter cold. We suggest you bathe the sculpture every couple of months so that dirt does not collect on the sculpture and then use a cotton cloth with some natural oil to give the statue a shine.
