Devi Tara is towering and impressive!
She is beautiful with a slight smile, downcast eyes and a passive, relaxed expression on her face with her head tilted to the left wearing a beautifully carved crown, ornate jewelry and a loose fitting skirt leaving her breast and stomach exposed
The carving around her face is truly outstanding with her crown, flowing hair, earrings and necklace all carved by the hands of a master!
Devi holds her right hand in the vitarka mudra of teaching in front of her chest and the stem of a lotus in his left hand that blooms above her left shoulder

Devi is simply stunning! She holds a flower to her breast. All the fingers are individually carved with care delicately holding the flower. She has a beautiful regal crown on her head in a conical style. She wears an elaborate skirt and dhoti that both have brocade designs on them with her breasts being exposed. She is beautiful and would make wonderful addition to the right garden setting!

About Lava Stone: The lava stone used for our sculptures was quarried in the volcanic mountains of Indonesia. The lava stone is a solid stone that is perfect for any type of location and weather conditions, hot or cold, wet or dry. The stone is versatile in that it can be colored in a wide spectrum of colors. It can also be polished or unpolished giving giving it a clean or rough feel. In humid conditions if it is left untouched it takes on a very mysterious, antique, worn look like you would see in the temple ruins of south east Asia.

Devi is the Sanskrit word for "Goddess". She is the core aspect of every Hindu Goddess. Devi is synonymous with Shakti, the female aspect of the divine, as conceptualized by the Shakta tradition of Hinduism. She is the female counterpart without whom the male aspect, which represents consciousness or discrimination, remains impotent and void.

Devi has many different names depending on where in India she is worshipped. In Madurai she is referred to as Meenakshi, in Chidambaram Shivakami, and in Kanchipuram she is revered as Kamatchi. In each city her likeness takes on different aspects as you can see by the variety of poses of Devi. As Meenakshi she stands holding a parrot. As Shivakami she stands next to her husband as Lord Nataraja and as Kamatchi holding fertility symbols.

Kamatchi is Devi in her creative manifestation bearing fertility symbols such as sugarcane, conch shell and parrot. As Prakriti she balances out the male aspect of the divine.

Lava stone statues from Bali do not need much maintenance. The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. They can be used for both indoor and outdoor use.

You can use soap, warm water and a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

Lava stone's durability makes it perfect for cold winters and hot summers of any climate. The stone can stand up to the harshest conditions of heat and bitter cold.
