This stunning 4 foot tall Buddha sculpture captures Lord Buddha in blissful meditation with his hands resting in his lap in the dhyana mudra of meditation with the soles of his feet facing skyward in the full lotus position or the padmasana
He is in the Gandhara style which is easily noticeable by his straight hair placed on a bun on his head
The Buddha has an urna or third eye on his forehead and is wearing his Buddhist robes (known as kāṣāya) with his right shoulder bare and a sash over his left shoulder
The magnificent Buddha is hand carved from one block of white marble, perfect indoors our outdoors in all weather

This Gandhara style Buddha statue is entirely hand carved from one piece of white marble. The Gandhara style is instantly noticeable by looking at the Buddha's hair. It is straight rather than curly and placed on a bun on top of his head. He wears a monks robe with his right shoulder exposed. He is seated in the dhyana mudra. It is the mudra of meditation, of concentration on the Good law and of the attainment of spiritual perfection. According to tradition, this mudra derives from lord Buddha when he was meditating under the pipal tree before his Enlightenment. This gesture was also used by yogis during their meditation and concentration exercises. It indicates the perfect balance of thought, rest of the senses, and tranquility. His gaze is penetrating with a look of deep concentration.The Buddha is seated in the padmasana or full lotus position. This is the leg position of deep meditation. Use a cotton cloth and gently buff the surface of the statue to bring out the natural polish of the stone.

White, red and black marble statues are easy to take care of as they just need some annual upkeep to keep them looking as they did when they were first carved. Here are some easy tips to keep your White, red and black marble statues from Lotus Sculpture looking like the gods they are:

Dust the statue as needed to prevent dirt build up
To make the statue shine use a cotton cloth to buff the sculpture
You can use a small amount of natural oil such as coconut oil or olive oil to further polish the sculpture
Use a tooth brush to get into the hard to reach spaces of the sculpture
DO NOT TOUCH the painted surfaces of any of the white marble statues. This will damage the painting if done often

White marble statues that are unpainted can be placed outdoors. We recommend keeping our smaller red and black marble statues as well as any painted marble statues in an indoor environment. The red and black marble statues have some delicate pieces that could chip if left outisde. The paint from the white marble statues will not last for more than 4 years if left outside so use discretion when placing your statues outdoors.
