  • Kwan Yin is seated on a rock in a relaxed position holding a vase that is overflowing with the nectar of Life that symbolizes compassion and wisdom.  The sculpture is an analogy to Kwan Yin being the source of an abundance of compassion in ones' life.  By bringing her into your life you are inviting an abundance of compassion into your life as well
  • She has a slight smile resting playfully on her lips and a small urna made from a clear stone for a third eye
  • Kwan Yin is both simple and elegant in this beautiful sculpture!

Kwan Yin is seated on a rock in a relaxed position wearing loosely fitting robes.  One hand rests on a rock and the other holds a vase that is overflowing with the nectar of Life that symbolizes compassion and wisdom.  By the vase overflowing with the nectar Kwan Yin is seen as bringing an abundance of compassion and wisdom to those who seek her out.  She has calm meditative eyes that are downcast as if in deep thought with a clear stone on her forehead representing a third eye or urna.   Kwan Yin is both simple and elegant!
I always say to our customers; The sculpture chooses you, you do not choose the sculpture.
You just know when you find the right piece to bring into your home and into your heart.
- Kyle Tortora, Founder of Lotus Sculpture

Kwan Yin (also spelled Kuan Yin, Quan Yin or Guan Yin), is known as the Goddess of Compassion, and she is one of the most popular deities in all of Asia. Her name in Chinese roughly translates to "The One Who hears the Cries of the World". Many believe that she is the female representation of Avalokiteshvara, the Tibetan and Nepalese God of Compassion. As a Bodhisattva, she has chosen to put off her complete, unexcelled, perfect enlightenment for the benefit of beings everywhere, and will wait as long as there is one being who is not enlightened.

Bronze statues from China do not need much maintenance. They are durable and strong! Most statues have black felt on the bottom of them to protect the surface they sit on. The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. These statues are mostly small and meant for indoor use.

You can use a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

You can use a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup. If you are really interested in making the statue shine you can use some natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil, and a cotton rag to wipe down the metal portions of the piece. You can use a toothbrush as well to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair.
