  • The 16 armed and 8 faced Hevajra stands wearing only a dhothi
  • He has a beautiful coppery patina which contrasts beautifully with the black wooden base he is standing upon
  • The cult of Hevajra was well established in the 11th -13th centuries
I have eight faces, four legs, and sixteen arms and trample the four Mara underfoot.  Fearful am I to fear itself, with my necklace made of a string of heads and dancing furiously on a solar disk.  Black am I and terrible with a crossed vajra on my head, my body smeared with ashes, and my mouths sending forth the sound of OM.  But my inner nature is tranquil and holding Nairatmya in loving embrace, I am possessed of tranquil bliss.  My front face is black, the one to the right is like white jasmine, the one to the left is red and fearful, and the one to the rear is distorted,  The remaining faces are like those of bees, and there are twenty-four eyes and so on.

I always say to our customers; The sculpture chooses you, you do not choose the sculpture.
You just know when you find the right piece to bring into your home and into your heart.
- Kyle Tortora, Founder of Lotus Sculpture

Brass statues from Cambodia do not need much maintenance. The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating. As they are brass, they can be used both indoors and outdoors. Although if the statue has a black wooden base it is not recommended for the outdoors as the base will show signs of wear over time outside.<

You can use soap, warm water and a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

You can use soap, warm water and a cotton cloth to periodically go over the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup. If you are really interested in making the statue shine you can use some natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil, and a cotton rag to wipe down the metal portions of the piece. You can use a toothbrush as well to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair.
