Immerse yourself in the grand narrative of the Ramayana with our polished Indian bronze statue set, bringing to life the seminal characters of Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, and Hanuman. Each figure is meticulously crafted, highlighting the nobility and depth of these legendary personalities. Rama, revered as the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu, and his brother Lakshmana, are portrayed with their iconic bows and arrows. These weapons, detachable from the statues, add a layer of realism and flexibility to the display.

The statues of Rama and Lakshmana are designed in active stances, symbolizing their readiness for the epic battle against the demon king Ravana, epitomizing the eternal victory of righteousness over malevolence. Sita, an emblem of grace and fidelity, is depicted with a composed yet enduring demeanor, while Hanuman stands as a testament to unwavering strength and loyalty, rounding off this formidable group.

This collection is more than a mere representation of physical forms; it captures the profound symbolic significance of these venerated figures. It's a treasure for enthusiasts of Indian mythology and a profound addition to any setting that values the rich tapestry of Hindu storytelling and artistry.

Rama, whose name signifies 'one who is present in everything and everyone', is a paramount figure in Hinduism. The narrative of the Ramayana recounts Rama's heroic deeds, his triumphant marriage to the virtuous Sita, and his righteous reign as a prince. Despite being ousted from his inheritance, Rama, along with Sita and Lakshman, embarks on an exile where Sita is abducted by the formidable Ravana. Aided by Hanuman and his legion, Rama valiantly rescues Sita, defeating Ravana, and restoring justice and order.

Rama exemplifies the ideal man in Hindu philosophy - a paragon of virtue, a devoted husband, a loving brother, a loyal friend, a valiant warrior, and a wise king. The saga of Rama and Sita is not just a story; it's a narrative that shapes the moral and ethical framework of Hindu culture, portraying ideal roles for men and women. This statue set is a homage to these timeless ideals, a celebration of virtue, and a splendid representation of Hindu heritage.

The Ten Avatars of Lord Vishnu

Vishnu's preserving, restoring, and protecting powers have been manifested in the world in a series of ten earthly incarnations known as avatars.  The avatars arrive either to prevent a great evil or to affect good upon the earth.  Nine are said to have descended already: three in non-human form, one in hybrid form and five in human form.  The most important are Rama, fearless upholder of the law of dharma and Krishna; youthful hero of the Bhagavad-Gita Vishnu's final avatar is expected to arrive at a time when the earth is at the end of its present cycle, with the purpose of destroying the world and subsequently recreating it.

1.   Matsya the Fish - Saved humanity and the sacred Veda text from the flood.
2.   Kurma the Turtle - Helped create the world by supporting it on his back.
3.   Varaha the Boar - Raised the earth out of water with his tusks.
4.   Narashima, half-man, half lion - Destroyed a tyrant demon king.
5.   Vamana the Dwarf - Subdued king Bali, a powerful demon.
6.   Parashurama the Brahmin - Destroyed the warrior caste.
7.   Noble Rama - Rescued his wife Sita and killed the demon Ravana. Upholder of the dharma.
8.   Krishna the Divine Cowherder - told the Epic poem Bhagavad-Gita to the warrior Arjuna.
9.   Buddha - The enlightened one.
10. Kalki the Horse - Destroyer of the world.  Yet to come to the earth.

Bronze is an extremely durable metal made from a combination of 5 metals; copper, iron, tin, with minute additions of silver and gold. This combination is called Panchaloha bronze and is the basis for making the sacred Hindu temple statues of India and the world. Copper is the most prevalent metal in the alloy. Copper also gives the metal a softer composition that allows the bronze artisans to carve the details that are prevalent in each piece.
All the South Indian bronze sculpture Lotus Sculpture carries are Panchaloham and thus suited for any home altar or community temple.

If you would like the piece to shine use a cotton cloth with some coconut oil or other natural oil to wipe down the bronze statue.

Because of the durability of the metal not much is needed to maintain a bronze sculpture. Many of our customers purchase a bronze statue and perform daily puja and abhisheka consisting of bathing the Hindu deity in ghee, milk, coconut milk or other liquids. In this case nothing is needed to keep the statue clean as it will be bathed daily. If the sculpture is used for "darshan" or simply viewing the sculpture it is best to dust the statue as needed so no dirt collects in the details of the sculpture. For both polished golden bronzes and antique patina bronze statues if you would like the sculpture to shine use a cotton cloth with some coconut oil or other natural oil to wipe down the piece as needed.

Many of our bronze Hindu statues have been placed in outdoor temples. Bronze's durability makes it perfect for cold winters and hot summers of any climate. We suggest you bathe the sculpture every couple of months so that dirt does not collect on the sculpture and then use a cotton cloth with some natural oil to give the statue a shine. Both indoors and outdoors a bronze statue can be left alone which, overtime, will give the bronze an antique patina.

On some bronze statues you can see small hints of lime green, verde-gris patina. Some people prize this color for its age others want to remove it. If you would like to remove the verde-gris use a tooth brush with some coconut oil or other natural oil and lightly go over the verde-gris. This should remove the unwanted patina from the sculpture.

Polished Gold Bronze: Many temples and homes prefer the highly polished gold bronze for temples or home altars. In order to give the statue a bright polished sheen we recommend using a cotton rag and buffing the piece. An acid like tamarind or lemon juice will help aid this process. This takes time and effort to bring out the polish. If you are looking for a short cut; some of our customers have used a product called Brasso which has been good at bringing a tarnished golden piece back to its golden shine.
