    Description

Avalokiteshvara is also reffered to as Kwan Yin. He is the bodhisattva of compassion. Avalokiteshvara made a vow that he would not rest until he had liberated all the beings in all the realms of suffering. Hence he is a bodhisattva who is continually reborn until all beings are enlightened. This pose is one of the most iconic poses within Buddhism of Avalokiteshvara with one leg propped up with his arm resting on his knee with his hand held out in the abhaya mudra. He wears a conical crown with a long flowing dhoti with folds that flow over the black, wooden base like a waterfall. A stunning example of Buddhist art.

    About Buddha

    Care

Brass statues from Bali, Indonesia do not need much maintenance.  The best way to maintain the statue is to simply dust the piece periodically to keep any dirt from accumulating.  Bali brass is meant only to be used indoors.

"You can use a natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil  and a cotton cloth to periodically
wipe down the statue to remove any dust or dirt buildup.
    "

If you are really interested in making the statue shine you can use some natural oil, like coconut oil or olive oil, and a cotton rag to wipe down the metal portions of the piece.  You can use a toothbrush as well to get into the small crevices of the statue like the hands and hair.  This will not remove any of the natural patina on the statue.
